Y30 N-oleoylsarcosine is used in the metalworking and rust prevention industry as an auxiliary agent. It is employed in both hydrophobic and hydrophilic formulations for metal corrosion inhibition.The rust inhibitor Y30 exhibits hydrophobic properties in acidic conditions.The chemical adsorption process on the metal surface leads to theformation of a dense monolayer, which can still serve as a protective layer even at lower treatment levels. Perlastan OCV exhibits hydrophobicityin acidic conditions. Its amphiphilic properties can be activated by neutr.alizing with MEA (monoethanolamine), TEA (triethanolamine), long-chain fatty acid amines, KOH (potassium hydroxide), NaOH (sodium hydr.oxide), and other agents.
N-oleoylsarcosine is an effective oil-soluble rust inhibitor, and its performance in various accelerated or simulated corrosion tests far exceeds that of barium petroleum sulfonate. A single component used at a concentration of 0.01% passes the ASTM D665 dynamic immersion test. In addition, Oleoyl Sarcosine has other characteristics,such as a thermal decomposition temperature of >220°C, which is nearly 100°C higher than dodecadienedioic anhydride. It serves as a green, ashless corrosion inhibitor and a good surfactant, with no toxicity to the human body.
Due to its unique molecular structure, N-oleoylsarcosine also exhibits excellent surface activity, effectively reducing surface tension. It can be used in cleaners, emulsifiers, as well as in cosmetics and personal care products as an emollient, moisturizer, and antistatic agent, providing good moisturizing and gloss effects for skin and hair. In addition, its strong adsorption and antibacterial properties allow it to be used in the synthesis of sodium, potassium, and alkanolamine salts for toothpaste formulations, where it effectively inhibits harmful oral bacteria.
